A Comparative Study on Agglutination Activities of Anti-H_(Tr) and Anti-H lectin to Various Animal Red Blood Cells

Abstract

|
Moon et al" had fractionated anti-H lectin from extracts of korean Trichosanthes Kirilowii Max. and designated anti-HT= lectin because of the immunological nature of this lectin was different from anti-H lectin prepared from Ulex europeus. There-fore, this experiment was carried out for comparison the agglutination activities of anti-HTr and anti-H lectin to various animal red blood cells.
Using anti-HTr lectin and anti-H lectin, prepared from korean native Trichosanthes Kirilowii Max. and Ulex europeus, respectively, performed agglutination reaction, agglutination-inhibition test by various sugars and estimated agglutination titer with ficinized or non-ficinized cells to many kinds of animal red blood cells, and obtained with the following results:
